Meet Dave

Home / Meet Dave

Dave grew up in Utah Valley and has lived here his entire life, except for 9 years in Hawaii where part of the time he worked for BYU Hawaii.

Dave currently lives near the new Provo High School and love where he lives.

He met his wife while attending BYU. A California girl and Orem boy decided to make Utah Valley their home. They have 5 children and several grandchildren.

As a graduate of BYU in business, Dave worked his way through school in construction where he now owns his own business building luxury homes. In this industry, Dave has seen firsthand the importance of good planning and design.

Dave has a history of service and improving his community.

Governor Leavitt appointed him to the Uniform Building Code Commission where he was one of nine commissioners, representing residential builders, approving building code in the State of Utah from 1998-2006.  He served as the President of the Utah Valley Home Builders Association in 2001.

While living in Spanish Fork, Dave served on the Spanish Fork Planning Commission, where he worked to improve community input and engagement. He was involved in the task force to analyze the needs of a new Spanish Fork Police Station and Courts building.

While living in Hawaii he coordinated many community service projects and was the Task Force Manager for KFAST which was a committee tasked with improving the facilities at Kahuku High School.  The highlight of KFAST was dedicating a new athletic field which was decades in need.

Dave wants to support the path that Provo is on and help Provo be Provo!  There is much to be celebrated about Provo and its current successes.

If elected as City Councilman for District 3 his focus will be on the following:

  • Careful financial stewardship
  • Responsible growth
  • Sustainable Trails and Parks
  • Safety and Services Support

When not building homes in Wasatch and Utah Counties, Dave and his wife can be found on the Provo River Trail or spending time with family.
